Tech21 Impact Mesh for iPad Review

My iPad is a very precious thing.  I use it a lot and I find it so useful for so many of the things that I do on a daily basis, that I'm sure I would be lost without it now.

My children all love the iPad too.  Within weeks of its arrival, they and I could both see the benefits of it being a 'family' iPad and whilst it is constantly covered in greasy smears or out of charge when I want to use it, it is a great tablet for the children to use both for fun and education.

Being a 'family' device does pose one problem though and that is that it gets moved around.  A lot.  It gets dropped, thrown, trodden on and it doesn't matter how many times we have the conversation about taking care of it, children are children and they act first and regret later.

So I was quite curious to take a look at the Tech21 Impact Mesh as it sounded like something that I needed to help me with my constant battle to protect the iPad. Tech21 create intelligent protection cases for smartphones, tablets and iPods which are designed using materials that are integrated with D30 impact material that absorbs and dissipates shock away from your device when dropped to provide the ultimate protection against everyday bumps and knocks.

So, what did we think of the Tech21 case?

We have been using it for about four weeks, it is very sleek and modern looking.  I chose a clear clase, but it is available in three other colours.  It is really easy to clip on to the iPad and although it only covers the back, you can buy the Apple Smart Cover to clip on and protect the front, if you want to.

It is a very simple design and not bulky which makes it easy to handle for big and little hands alike and as it is fully compatible with the iPad, you can access all of the iPad ports and function buttons.

In terms of protection, I haven't tried throwing across the room or out of the window, but it has been subjected to the usual wear and tear that the iPad gets in this house and it has been dropped onto the kitchen floor by my daughter and it is still working well.

Overall, I do like the Tech21 Impact Mesh, it is available to buy for around £30 - £35 which is good value, if it helps to protect the life of your precious device and I think that when you are making a significant investment on any device whether it is a phone or a tablet, it is well worth thinking about how you can protect it as accidents can so easily happen.
