First, last week came the mystery of the 'flapjacket'. I have to admit that the mystery was more due to my stupidity than her apparently new word. She kept going on about 'flapjackets' and waving her Minnie Mouse rucksack at me. I was clueless (not for the first time!)
After a couple of days she started to get a bit frustrated. She speaks well for a two year old, but can't explain things very well. We were getting ready to go and pick her brothers up from school and she was there with her trusty bag. 'I want a flapjacket!'. You know how it is when you're running late and you might get just a tad frustrated. She ended up in tears bemoaning her lack of 'flapjacket', so I start desperately pulling all of her coats out of the cupboard trying to work out which one was the 'flapjacket', which only served to upset her even more.
It was only when I dragged her kicking and screaming to school that one of the other mums asked; "Does she means a flapjack?" It didn't take a genius really, did it? A was thrilled when I got home and gave her a flapjack and peace was once again restored.
Then, I decided to get in the bath with A the other day. It's not something I do very often, but I just fancied it. A was quite fascinated by all of my 'bits'. She kept pointing at my boobs and asking; "What's that?". I explained that they were boobies. "Beans" she shouted at the top of her voice "Mummy's Beans!". No amount of persuading would change her mind. Standing up in the bath later, A looked down at her belly button and asked what it was. I told her it was a belly button. "No!" She proclaimed. She looked at it very thoughtfully and said; "It's my footprint boobie!". She then fell about in hysterical laughter.
Why not pop on over to the fabulous Actually Mummy for the final lot of 'Wot so funnee's". You know you want to!

I think children can be a bit surreal sometimes and yes the words we use do cause mass confusion at times! Thank you for hosting the "Funnee", it was one of the first memes I joined in with when I started blogging and it has been great fun writing the posts and reading everyone elses!
