Like most little boys (or males in general?), L has an bit of an obsession with his willy. I do try to gently tell him to stop, but when he is tired or chilling out, down goes his hands and off he goes. We call it "fiddlywinking", which came from mummy muddling up her words one day when she was trying to say "winky fiddling" and it has just stuck.
Well, it's that time of year, when he is tired all the time, and so when they were sitting on the carpet in class the other day, he started "fiddlywinking". The teacher noticed and asked him to stop. L looked at her and then when she carried on talking off he went again. She pulled him to one side at break time and told him that he shouldn't put his hands down his trousers in school as it was inappropriate and then (foolishly) asked him why he kept doing it. L's simple reply: "Because I like it and it feels nice!"
She did ask! When she related this story to me later on, I did try really hard to keep a straight face!
Why don't you pop over to the brilliant Actually Mummy and have a look at the other entries for this brilliant meme:

Ha ha ha, love 'fiddlywinking'. Will have to remember that one!
ReplyDeleteOh dear the embarrassment! Bless him - got to learn that you can't always do what feels nice in public!
