WHAT HAPPENED TO THE WEATHER!!!
It has certainly been a sharp contrast this week. There we were last week, leaving our coats at home, playing in the park in the lovely sunshine and then lo and behold, the school holidays start and the weather takes a dramatic turn for the worse!
Sunday saw us making a brief stop over in South Wales again and we went for a lovely morning on the beach, playing football, building sandcastles and stopping for the compulsory ice cream. This is A and her daddy enjoying the sunshine.
Monday and we travelled down to Perranporth in Cornwall for our short holiday. It took six hours which seemed like a very long journey with two bickering boys and a stroppy toddler in the back. We arrived at the Haven site and A made herself at the play area.
Tuesday morning we woke to relatively blue skies and we took an early morning stroll to the beach by the site and the views were breathtaking. The boys made me laugh as they ran excitedly down the hill, which was really steep. They got to the bottom, looked up and started moaning. This was them staggering back up.
Wednesday morning was very chilly. Rain, wind and moody skies greeted us when we went out. We drove to Newquay and drove around, looked at the sea (from the car) and then went back. It was just too miserable to do anything else. This is the very beautiful Fistral Bay which was taken from the car.
It is the first time that we have stayed in a Haven holiday resort and I was quite impressed. The boys loved getting involved with the different activities, especially the ones in the pool. This was R doing 'Aquajets' which basically involved him whizzing around the pool with a little motorised jet. He absolutely loved it.
I did have to cheat ever so slightly with Friday's photo as I took this late Thursday night. We decided to drive home through the night as it was so cold and it meant that the children would all sleep. So we stayed for the evening's entertainment and A was so exhausted, she collapsed in her pushchair and this was her just before I put her into the car to go home. Any photos taken on Friday would have been very dull anyway and would have probably been of piles of washing and ironing or the boys looking exhausted in their pyjamas.
A had a little box of Mini Eggs today and was fascinated by them. She spent ages playing with them before she ate them, but she wouldn't share!
My favourite for this week, I rather like today's shot of A with her mini eggs but my favourite is the moody, rainy day in Newquay that I took on Wednesday.

The sea does look very moody. Great shot
ReplyDeleteThank you although sun would have been nicer
DeleteI know... where DID the weather go?? We were enjoying it!
ReplyDeleteIt will probably come back when the children go back to school x
Deletewhat beautiful scenery
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cornwall is beautiful whatever the weather!
DeleteLooks like you had slightly more nicer weather in Cornwall than Devon. We toyed with the idea of coming back on Thursday night too as our caravan was freezing but promised the kids dinosaurs instead. Looks like you had a lovely time.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly was freezing! We did have a nice time but it was nice to come home x
DeleteI love Tuesday's photograph I think the best, but next to the A with the mini eggs, you can see one on her cheek I think, very cute!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Mini eggs are her favourite thing at the moment!
DeleteLovely selection of pictures :)
ReplyDeleteWe were away too this week and weather was awful on Tuesday, but Wednesday was glorious as long as you didn't move out of the sun (freezing cold in the shade).
ReplyDeleteLove the moody sea picture too.
It's such a shame about the weather after the previous couple of weeks, but hopefully the nice weather will come back x
Deletefab photos for this week, looks like you have been busy!
ReplyDeleteIt has been busy! Enjoying a restful weekend now x
DeleteI know it wasn't much the weather for it but that ice cream looks like its really bring enjoyed!
ReplyDeleteMine all enjoy ice cream whatever the weather!
DeleteThat beach is to die for! That huge expanse! and wow, Fistral beach looking moody. My fave is the mini egg shot though :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat week of pictures :)
ReplyDeleteGreat selection of pics. Looks beautiful there x
ReplyDeleteI k wk what you mean about the change in the weather! Still at least we didn't get any snow! Still it looks like you had a fun holiday and it s a beautiful part of the UK to stay xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame the weather was foul, I find that Cornwall is so hard to enjoy yourself in when it's grotty. We rowed (as in argued) our way through Cornwall one holiday!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up
