"What does peace look like to you? Is it a quiet corner with a book, or sitting in the bath by candlelight?
Is it sitting in the sunshine with a child snuggled up on your lap or a walk in the countryside on your own, with just your thoughts to keep you company?"

An interesting theme for this week's The Gallery. What does peace look like to me?
This photo is peace for me on two levels. Firstly I love the sea. Living in the Midlands is fine and I am lucky that I live in a lovely part of the world, but I do love the sea. We go to the sea whenever we can and whatever the weather, there is something so calming and relaxing about staring out into the waves, that always makes me feel at peace.
The second peaceful aspect of this photo is that the children are happy and relaxed and having fun. All of my children love being outside and love the seaside and there is no arguing, no bickering, no fighting and that definitely makes me feel more peaceful.
As much as I love my children, there is a definite sigh of relief; some days more than others, when they are all finally asleep. Well, the little ones anyway, the teenager goes to sleep after me most of the time. Looking at them when they are sleeping, is an oh so peaceful sight!

Oh yeah, bedtime is good time!
ReplyDeleteI love the contrast between the two photos. Very peaceful.
ReplyDeleteI think the sleeping of children is a very peaceful time for them and us parents!! As for the beach photo, I can see why you would find peace there as the eater can be calming and relaxing if on Holiday. Xx
ReplyDeleteSleeping children are most definitely a sign of peace all around, as is being by the sea - just at the opposite end of the peace scale I think....great choice of photos
ReplyDeleteThe beach and bedtime. Both very peaceful photos.
